How I personalized my undergraduate course with badges

In my undergraduate course, I have students do many activities to experiment with new technologies. I am now entering my 4th semester of having students complete badges for these activities and do short reflections leading one paper at the end of the semester. It has reduced my grading. It has allowed me to give students more options, personalize their learning, and streamline activities. Problems include procrastination and difficulty making choices.
